Friend's of Peel Memorial Hospital Horseshoe Tournament

Councillor Doug Whillians wards 2 & 6 and Jeff Bowman wards 3 & 4 members of the Friends of Peel Memorial Hospital, decided to hold a charity horseshoe tournament to raise funds for the new hospital in Brampton. They contacted and met Club President Ken Condie to set up a date for a tournament, the date was set October 17th, Ken arranged for volunteers from our club, as scorekeepers and pit crews.

Weather postponed the day and rescheduled for October 24th, it was a little warmer but light rain fell at times, reducing the number of participants, those that came out really enjoyed the day.

Bottom line we raised $3300.00, which was matched by the Orlando Group for a total of $6600.00.

Plans are underway to have another tournament in the early spring of 2016, which will be bigger and better.  I am sending out this challenge to all horseshoe players or Wannabee players to come out and have some fun and raise more money for our new hospital.

Cost is $100 per team (2 players) which is a tax deduction, there will be a barbeque and refreshments  and 50 – 50 draw and prizes for the winners,.

The Brampton Men’s Horseshoe Club will be putting in 2 teams once again.
